Our ongoing cost per meal is $7.75 currently. When you come to our dining room, we hope that you can keep that in mind as you are moved to donate to the cause of feeding those who have no other way of getting meals.

As with other ministries during the Covid-19 pandemic we have had to do some fancy footwork to keep the mission going. Currently we are serving more shut-ins than homeless people. We still are opening our dining hall to the public and those who have no other way of getting a meal. God’s vision is true, and we have been blessed to serve his people.

We are always seeking Church and corporate partners. They have been generous. Still, we need your help. We recognize that these are hard times. But if you can give $5, $10, or $20 a month that will go a long way in aiding us in our ministry. Our goal is to get a 1000+ Kitchen Partners to keep us going.

Blessings on you all,

Rev. Jim Deese

Our Vision

To be a Christ Centered Ministry seeking to feed the hungry, cloth the poor, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ as it was given to us in the New Testament.

“…pure religion is this: to visit orphans, and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27b

It is our desire to fulfill the will of God in all things.

We recognize that hunger is an epidemic, affecting more than just the families living at or below the poverty line. More than 15% of our citizens are food insecure here in Harnett County. In our schools 60% of students are on a free or reduced cost lunch program. It is heartbreaking. Especially when we all know that tons of good food are disposed of in North Carolina daily.

With these things in mind, it is the goal of Ladles of Love to offer a free meal to anyone who walks through our door or calls us on the phone to deliver to a shut-in. In fact, during the pandemic shut-ins have become our biggest service segment. The added cost of fuel prices impacts us as it has you. Still, we persist. It is God’s vision to us, and our desire to serve Him by serving His children.

Since our inception five years ago in the fellowship halls of four churches we have grown to have a store front, with a kitchen, in Lillington, N.C. We offer free lunch each day for those we can reach. Join us, come eat with us if you can, donate what you can if you can. But do drop by, even if just for a visit to see what we are about. We are always willing to spread the vision! Our hours are from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Our goal is to open for breakfast in the near future.

It is the love of Christ, and the vision He gave of our fellow people who are hungry, both for food and His word, and their needing to be fed that has led us here. Join us! Donate, pray, visit, volunteer!

God Bless You All,

Mission Statement

We will feed them, nurture them, pray for them, and lovethem in all circumstances to His glory.
